After the golden plains of Vojvodina, investors in green kilowatts are becoming increasingly interested in eastern Serbia. Windmills should start operating on the hills of Branicevo soon. Ivicom Energy Zagubica, owned by Austria's Ivicom Holding GmbH, has started preparing for the construction of the Krivaca wind farm. The complex will spread on the territory of the municipalities of Golubac, Kucevo and Veliko Gradiste.
The wind park would have 103 MW of installed power in the final stage, and the first windmills should be put into operation in late 2017.
Ivicom Energy started measuring the wind potential in Golubac and Kucevo in 2009. After determining the usable energy potential, a preliminary design for the Krivaca wind farm was prepared, and the energy permit by the relevant ministry was issued in June 2015.
Ivicom Consulting, another member of Ivicom Holding GmbH, has recently raised a wind farm on the Krnovo plateau at Niksic.
At the municipality of Kucevo, they say for eKapija that the preparations for the construction of access routes are in progress, so that the works might start next spring. The agreement on developing the road infrastructure was signed in mid-July 2016.
– The expropriation of the parcels for access roads is currently in progress, as is the settling of property relations – says Jasmina Camilovic, deputy president of the municipality of Kucevo.
– We expect the construction workers to be on the site next spring, as this is inaccessible hill terrain, which makes winter works difficult – our interviewee adds.
The project envisions the reconstruction of around 20 kilometers of existing roads and the construction of around 21 km of new ones.
The Krivaca complex is planned to have 38 installed wind turbines, and the total power of the future wind farm will reach 103.32 MW. The electrical energy will be distributed through the new Krivaca substation, to be connected to the Veliko Gradiste and Neresnica (municipality of Kucevo) substations, and two 110 kV power lines will be installed leading to them. The power lines should be nearly equal in length – around 19.4 km. The construction of permanent storage space within the Krivaca complex is planned for the purpose of the maintenance of the wind farm, i.e. repairing or changing broken or damaged wind aggregate components.
The wind turbines will be located on the hills: Veliko Cerje, Golo Brdo, Malo Cerje, Veliki Klokocar (north side of the location), Cuka, Tilva, Debelo Brdo and Krivacka Tilva (south side of the location). According to the reports from the Ivicom Energy website, the Krivaca wind farm will be put into operation in November 2017.
Jobs for local construction workers
As Ivicom states in its plans, the benefit to the community will also be reflected in the fact that local contractors will be employed, and the people in the area will also be employed on maintaining the wind farm.
Construction in stages
The detailed regulation plan for the area was prepared by Arhiplan from Arandjelovac, and the environmental impact study is the work of ECOLogica Urbo from Kragujevac.
According to the data from the DRP, construction in two stages is allowed.
