The Italian footwear manufacturer Progetti will start building a footwear factory in Sombor this autumn. The city has provided the factory with a parcel in the industrial zone for the purpose.

Ljiljana Jovanovic, Progetti’s consultant, said that all the equipment for the new Sombor factory had been purchased, that the construction would start in autumn, and that, if everything went according to plan, it would be completed the next spring. She emphasized the good cooperation between the company and the local self-government of Sombor.

As announced earlier, the new factory will employ 150 new workers.

The Italian company employs a total of 957 workers in Serbia, and also provides jobs for 2,000 workers through around twenty of its subcontractors. The Serbian headquarters are located in Vladimirci, and there’s also a facility in Vrsac.
