Tax police discovers RSD 13, 6 billion of evaded tax in 2015

Last year, Tax police discovered more than RSD 13 and a half billion of evaded tax, which is 50% more than in 2014. The number of violations has been submitted for a third.

- In 2015, 1739 violations have been submitted against, 2 326 entities, 63 of them deprived of freedom and total amount of evaded tax is RSD 13, 6 billion – coordinator of Tax Directorate, Ivan Ivanovic said for RTS.

When asked what has been done at cutting grey economy flows, he says significant results have been achieved.

For the first time, Tax directorate had a chance to join forces with other inspections so Ivanovic says it takes cooperation with other governmental institutions, the Ministry of Internal Afafirs, customs, directorate for money laundering prevention and that lately they have been working a lot with market inspection and on site control of Tax directorate.

Replying about the number of inspectors essential for more efficient work, he says having in mind tendency to decrease headcount number in public administration, he does not believe they will achieve necessary number but that they will try the number of inspectors is between 150 and 200, which might be an optimal number.
