Sremska Mitrovica Mayor Branislav Nedimovic, Luca Zaia, the governor of the Italian region of Venetto, and Patricio Dei Tos, the president of the Labor Legno group, have opened the first of many production facilities of this Italian company in Sremska Mitrovica. Labor Legno is an Italian company headquartered in Cordignano. It is a leading producer and vendor of wooden floors and covers in the Italian market for as many as fifty years now.
Through its daughter company Itlas S.p.A, Labor Legno owns brands Tavole del Piave, Legni del Doge, Assi del Cansiglio, generating sales of nearly EUR 30 million a year.
As Mayor Nedimovic said earlier, the value of this investment totals about EUR 3 million. All production facilities are and will be situated on a land lot that Labor Legno acquired in the free zone Jezero. This investment is particularly important for the city because it represents a comeback of the wood processing industry that used to be one of the symbols of Sremska Mitrovica for decades.
