March 5th to see flash furnace at RTB Bor's new smelter fired up
Until then, all checks and corrections pertaining to the functional testing of the equipment at the new smelter and sulfuric acid plant will be finished, said Tony Korkan, one of the managers working for Finland's Outotec, the company entrusted with the design and assembly of furnaces.
Korkan has recently had a meeting with the management of RTB Bor, representatives of Canada's SNC Lavalin and Belgrade-based Energoprojekt.
Once the new flash furnace is fired up, it will be heated for three weeks, and the first anode should be cast by the end of March.
This flash furnace was built late last year, in less than two months.
