Government accepts Esmark's offer for Zelezara
The Government of Serbia has accepted today the offer of Esmark Europe from Amsterdam for strategic partnership at Zelezara Smederevo and negotiations with selected bidder will follow with respect to contract signing, the Office for cooperation with media announced.
The Government accepted Esmark’s offer after considering the report of the Commission for implementation of strategic partnership model in the privatization process of Zelezara.
Two tenders were released for privatization of Zelezara but there were no bidders.
Three bidders sent their offers to the third tender released in December and the only valid offer was Esmark’s. At the public call for the selection of strategic partner for capital increase at Zelezara, stake of 80,01% was offered for acquisition and the owner of the remaining 19,99% would remain state-owned stake.
