Invitation for Public-Private Partnership Within Organic Trade for Development in Eastern Europe Project Opens

Serbia Organica has invited those interested to respond to the invitation to submit proposals of projects that are co-financed within the invitation for a public-private partnership based on the Organic Trade for Development in Eastern Europe (OT4D) project, supported by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) as part of the promotion of trade in developing economies.

Interested companies-importers from Switzerland and the European Union may apply with their partners in Albania, Ukraine and Serbia.

The project aims to create jobs in rural areas, primarily for the young and the female population and to direct the manifold positive influence of organic agriculture to economic development, development of innovations and improvement of the natural environment.

The International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) coordinates OT4D project activities, the invitation says.

The project supports private-public partnership in export-oriented value chains of organic products in said three countries. The coordination of the activities within the project is managed by a consortium of Helvetas and FiBL.

The most important objective of this co-financing mechanism is to increase the competitiveness of export-oriented projects in Ukraine, Serbia and Albania in the international market, through providing support to projects which contribute to an increase in the production and the volume of trading in the organic sector.

The financing is primarily meant for projects which contribute to getting added value, the creation of jobs, the creation of public goods in the sector and the development of relevant capacities which enable a sustainable development of ecological activities in Ukraine, Albania and Serbia.
